Master Thesis “Evaluation of methods for the model-based identification of dynamic parameters of freight wagons”
Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH, Graz
The maintenance process of freight wagons and their components is currently mainly based on fixed inspection intervals. These conservative intervals lead to correspondingly high maintenance costs. The trend towards condition-based maintenance is therefore towards cost optimization. However, this strategy requires continuous knowledge of the relevant conditions of the wagon components in operation. In this thesis, system parameters and component states of a mechanical analogous system of a freight wagon are to be identified using modelbased methods and the methods used are to be evaluated.
